Dr. Claudia C. Cotes, M.D. is a board-certified radiologist and nationally recognized leader in breast imaging. She currently serves as Section Chief of Breast Imaging and Director of the Breast Imaging Fellowship at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
With over a decade of academic and clinical leadership, Dr. Cotes has played a pivotal role in developing innovative diagnostic pathways and expanding access to high-quality breast imaging services, particularly for underserved populations.
She is deeply engaged in community outreach, public education, and healthcare advocacy. Her passion for patient-centered care and health equity has earned her numerous national speaking invitations and media features.
Dr. Cotes is also a dedicated educator, having developed a comprehensive breast imaging fellowship program and restructured residency training to align with national standards. She actively trains and mentors medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and academic settings.
She contributes nationally through her service on committees of the American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging. As a mentor, educator, and advocate, Dr. Cotes remains committed to advancing women's health through radiologic innovation, education, and equity.
